Darlene Nicholson
I was born and raised in Southern California, moved to Georgia in my mid-twenties, and now live in the middle of Kansas with my husband of twenty-six years and our three fur babies. My time is spent volunteering for my church, helping my mom and mom-in-law, and doing my best to turn the characters, quests and adventures running rampant in my head into stories I can share with others.
For me, nothing is better than getting lost in a story, where the settings and characters come alive in your mind. Like Linus with his blanket, books have always been my security blanket. I truly never go anywhere without a book.
When I was little, my mother instilled a love of stories in me by reading to me every night. After I started reading for myself she took me to the library and I discovered “The Grey King” by Susan Cooper, the “Wizard of Oz” series by L. Frank Baum, and “The Phantom Tollbooth” by Norton Juster, to name a few. Years later I stumbled across a copy of “The Flame and the Flower” by Kathleen Woodiwiss in a neighbor’s bookshelf and my love of romance novels was born.
In the years following, my tastes have expanded to include suspense, mystery, and paranormal. My goal is to combine all of them along with a loving dose of romance into my in-progress paranormal romantic suspense novel.
